EFM to Deliver Schools on New Development Sites

Following the grant of planning permission for 700 homes at Ridgeway Farm (Purton Wiltshire) (26th November 2012) EFM has the task of delivering its 1 form entry primary school premises to a very tight timetable.

Having met the proposed Architects (Walker Simpson Architects based in Manchester) at the Buchan Concrete Solutions Site at Byley Cheshire on the 17th December representatives from Wiltshire Council confirmed on 20th December their agreement for appointments to proceed.

The timetable calls for the Reserved Matters planning application for the school to be registered by the 26th March 2013 by which time the construction programme, site masterplan, building plan, architectural and services specifications, and external plan must be agreed by Taylor Wimpey (the developer) and Wiltshire Council.

The school is planned to open for September 2014

This is a first for EFM appointed by a house builder and follows 20 years of delivery of school buildings mainly for Governing Bodies and sometimes Local Authorities that culminated in the delivery of The Harefield Academy with a budget of £34.2m for the Academy Trust and DfE.
