Services for Schools

On the practical front, EFM is a specialist manager of FM (facilities management) services for schools. EFM runs cleaning, catering, grounds, maintenance, repair, and photocopying and other services. It line manages caretakers. It manages Health & Safety.

Of course there are exemplar projects – milestones for a small company. Some are long-term for example: one school where over the last few years adjacent farmland has been acquired for playing field, derelict land disposal has provided both social and key-worker housing, capital receipt funded a youth centre and early years centre as well as expanded adult education facilities and public library. The private sector has provided specialist sports facilities – school use during the day and commercial use at other times – and a capital receipt to convert the balance of farmland to grass playing field.

Receipt balances funded the major upgrade of the indoor circulation areas. The site now boasts a 38m 100kW wind turbine to part-power the school.

Being small EFM can respond to the sudden and unforeseen.  Whether it is rescuing a new secondary school (Academy) that is projected to be £7m over budget when the tenders came in and destined for cancellation. Project successfully turned around and delivered without overspend. Or responding to very tight timescales, impossible deadlines and labyrinthine funding arrangements EFM has demonstrated that it is fleet of foot, imaginative and delivers exemplary client satisfaction: no one does it better.
